Professional Technical Writer, Gainwell Technologies, Maintenance and Operations
March 2019–September 2025
I worked for the quality department ensuring that the subsystems that I am assigned to are following the waterfall Software Document Lifecycle process.
-
Review and edit nodes for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors in the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) system.
-
Scribe, present using Microsoft Teams, and generate documents that involve system change requests and work requests during work product reviews.
-
Send out email reminders to the teams to review documentation before the work product reviews, system change requests and check to see if there is any information that is unclear and/or missing.
-
Create linked issues in ALM if there are functional issues in the documentation.
-
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Software Engineers, Testers, Database Administrators, and other subject matter experts in work product reviews to ensure that the documents I edit and generate are clear, accurate, cohesive, and consistent with the Gainwell style guide and the Chicago style manual.
-
Meet all deadlines and ensure that the following deliverables meet Gainwell's quality standards: Requirement Design Documents, Defect Analysis Documents, Technical Design Documents, Test Plan Documents, Update Technical Artifacts, Enhancements, Defects, Problem Tickets from ServiceNow, Detailed System Designs, and User Stories.
-
Evaluate deliverables for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.
-
Attend code reviews and ensure that the Software Engineers include proper documentation such as requirement traceability matrices and unit test results in ALM before the code review.
-
Document work product review information (participants, dates, review times) in SharePoint and in a Metric Tracking Excel spreadsheet.
-
Ensure that objects from my assigned subsystems that have been released into Production are located in Project Workbook.
-
Reach out to teams to ensure that the system objects are all located in Project Workbook. Once updates are made in Project Workbook, then I add the system objects (windows, letters, database tables, etc.) and change orders to the Detailed System Design books, which are a comprehensive collection of system objects and change orders that are in production for each subsystem.
