Editing
WPA Editorial Style Guide
I created the WPA style guide in the Technical Style and Editing class, taught by Dr. Cindy Nahrwold, in the spring semester of 2015.
Project Description
This was a collaborative project in which I worked with another fellow student. We created the WPA style guide in order to give the WPA journal editorial team a reference for format, punctuation, style, grammar, and documentation that is specific to the WPA journal. I helped to design the manual's colors, typeface, and font. Also, I helped to write and edit the style guide.

Production for Editors
Quills & Pixels publication was created in the Production for Editors class, taught by Dr. Charles Anderson, in the spring semester of 2014.
Project Description
Quills & Pixels is a peer reviewed journal of nonfiction writing. It is the student publication of the UALR Writers’ Network. Quills & Pixels is published annually by the Department of Rhetoric and Writing at UALR. I served as a development editor and a production editor of Quills & Pixels 2014.
Audience
Audience included students and faculty of UALR as well as authors and editors. Also, it serves people who read nonfiction for enjoyment or entertainment from all over Arkansas.
Composing Process
After the entire class voted on the design of the booklet, we used an Adobe InDesign template to create the entire booklet.
Challenges
It was very difficult for me to learn how to use Adobe InDesign. Initially, we used a template but the template wasn't working so we started from the beginning.
Theory/Best Practices
I learned about the acquisition process of obtaining nonfiction pieces. Also, I learned how to effectively use tools such as color, balance, and hierarchy. I learned how to maintain the author's writing style-how not to interfere with their personal writing style and to enhance their own unique style in their piece.
